Some are born genius and MC Mary Kom is one of them. Ever since she started playing Boxing, the ace Boxer is only getting better and better. Today, she won first round match at the AIBA World Women’s Boxing Championship to keep India’s hope for Rio Olympics alive.

Magnificent Mary beat Swedish Juliana Soderstrom 3-0 in an emphatic manner earlier today giving latter no chance to make a comeback anytime in the match. Mary Kom, aged 33, and a mother of three children, is still fit and fine. Her feet movements are steady and fast and she displayed the same while playing today’s match. This Saturday, the fantastic Manipuri athlete will head on Azize Nimani of Germany in Women Boxing Championship.

Mary Kom currently plays in 51 kg category. Two more consecutive wins will give her a direct berth to participate at the upcoming Rio Olympics in Women Boxing category. A total of 12 Rio tickets are on offer in three Olympic categories of 75kg, 60kg and 51 kg respectively.

Amongst Indian women boxers, who are keeping alive India’s great Rio Olympic Dream are Mary Kom, Pooja Rani and Sarita Devi. They are the players to watch out for. India’s hope for Olympic title in Boxing category largely depends upon their finest performance at the gala event.
